Why is it important to understand the origin of the Gospel?

1. What does it mean to be joined with Jesus as the body of Christ? How does our individualistic thinking conflict with this revelation?

2. According to this study, describe how we communicate in the Spirit. How does God’s anointing allow us to hear from Him personally?

3. What is the difference between the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit? Even though we are not perfect, what should our goal as believers be?

4. What is true holiness? What is the result of Jesus, our Consecration, setting us apart?

5. What is included in redemption through Christ, according to this study? How can we transfer what is lacking from simply knowledge to something practical?

Focusing on Jesus

"Our goal should be to see the life flow, virtue, and personality of God coming forth through wisdom that causes us to be separate from the world."
~Kevin Zadai

But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the
divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our
Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for
sin].
1 Corinthians 1:30 AMPC

DISCUSSION:
This week, we will discuss the importance of focusing on Jesus. We must make sure that we are always really sharp in everything that we do and that we all have the same goal, which is walking with and in Christ.

We are going to dive into 1 Corinthians 1:30 and break it down. Paul uses some significant words in this lengthy passage of scripture, so we will use the Amplified version to gain understanding. This verse declares that we have our life from God, in Christ Jesus. Jesus is our Wisdom, through whom God revealed the knowledge of His divine plan of salvation. This plan was previously hidden but has manifested itself through Jesus. He is our Righteousness, who has put us in right standing with God. Jesus is also our Consecration, through whom we make ourselves pure and holy. Finally, He is described as our Redemption, who provided the ransom from sin’s eternal penalty.

THE ORIGIN OF THE GOSPEL
For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be the glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:36

The first point that I want you to note is that the Gospel, which includes everything God gives us, is not from man, even though God gives it to people. People are called to preach or relay it through the ministry; however, we must remember that the origin of the revelation of the Gospel message and every revelation about God is from Him. The Lord revealed it to us by giving us His Word, Jesus; He manifested His power through the Holy Spirit, confirming the Word with signs and wonders following. Yet He revealed it to people and moved upon them; when inspired by God, they wrote and spoke what they received.

We received the message of the Gospel through the Holy Spirit moving upon people who wrote it out and recorded it. In 1 Corinthians 1:30, Paul admonishes us to focus on the Source—Jesus. This revelation did not originate from man. We draw our life and existence from Jesus, yet we must also receive God’s revelation—everything we believe—from Him. There has to be a drawing, a yearning to accept sound teaching and doctrine. We draw our life from Him, which is truth filtered down to us in the different ways we believe; we call this doctrine. Paul enforced what he had been taught and received from the Lord. He, in turn, taught it to others; he called the revelation his Gospel because he received it from the Lord Himself.

o Why is it important to understand the origin of the Gospel?

GOD’S MYSTERY REVEALED THROUGH THE CHURCH
God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was His eternal plan, which He carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 3:10–11 NLT

God’s mystery, which was previously hidden, is now revealed through the Church. Paul talked about this in his letters, especially Ephesians and Colossians (Ephesians 3:8–11; Colossians 1:25–28). We are joined together in Christ as His body of believers on the earth. Christ's body or the Church is the concept that the believers are a legislative assembly or ekklēsia*  (Matthew 16:18). The words believers, the Church, and the body of Christ are interchangeable. In other words, Jesus is the Anointed One, the Head of His body; therefore, His body has the same anointing.

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
1 John 2:20

We are all joined together, not just individuals. The anointing of the Anointed One is on us, but we must realize that it comes from Jesus. It's not something that we acquire by being part of a denomination or any organization. God has used denominations; however, they have often become restrictive. We must remember that the Anointed One has initiated the body, the Church on the earth, and has anointed us. Through the anointing of Christ, God has given us certain things like wisdom, which is the understanding of how to apply knowledge. We are joined to Jesus; although there are certain words like Church and believers, we are all the body of Christ, and Jesus is the Head of that body.

WISDOM: COMMUNICATION IN THE SPIRIT
However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
John 16:13

The Lord has given us a way of communication in the Spirit, with which He gives us life. That life is wisdom and truth flowing from Him. God uses people to teach us; however, we also have the Holy Spirit and the anointing inside us. John talks about this in the Bible because we can also receive wisdom and revelation individually, which should coincide with everything the Holy Spirit says to us as a body. There shouldn't be doctrinal issues like there are. People are in error because they have gotten into their own thinking. God gives us wisdom, virtue, holiness, and redemption; these all originate from God. He reveals these revelations, which used to be hidden, through the Church.

CONSECRATION: GOD OWNS US
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22–23 NLT

Think about this: The wisdom you have through the Spirit should coincide with what others are receiving because we have been given virtue from the Lord. Virtue is the word for life. God is so big and powerful, yet He can dwell inside us. What does that entail? We have the fruit of the Spirit, not just the gifts. The fruit consists of character traits such as love, joy, and self-control. These are aspects of who God is. The fruit of the Spirit is the personality of the Holy Spirit, which is inside of us. That fruit should be coming forth in its purest form, manifesting the joy, self-control, gentleness, and kindness we would receive from Him. It is not just knowledge but wisdom, which is understanding how to apply knowledge; we should be experiencing transformation.

The gifts of the Spirit are one thing, but the fruit of the Spirit is the personality of God, which should come forth in its purest form. We know that we're not perfect and live in an imperfect world, but our goal should be to see God's life flow, virtue, and personality coming forth through wisdom that causes us to be separate from the world. We should actively stand out. This is what holiness is: God owns us. Because the Lord owns us, He takes us to Himself, which means we're separate from the world. Holiness is evident because of Christ Jesus—our Consecration. When He came down, God gave us virtues, which didn't originate with man.

REDEMPTION INCLUDES POWER FROM ON HIGH
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8 NLT

Religious systems have been developed to cause people to behave a certain way. Yet, as Christians, we were never meant to live under pressure, coercion, or control. The Lord has called us to be born again, and then receive the Spirit of God inside us to empower us to live for Him. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is the pouring out of the Spirit, gives us power to be witnesses; it is a separate, individual encounter where, after being born again, you receive power from on high. That's why Jesus told His disciples, who already believed in Him, to stay in Jerusalem until they received power from on high; it was a separate encounter. Salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, allowing the fruit of the Spirit to manifest, and being separate through ownership are all parts of redemption. It’s not just salvation (accepting Jesus, confessing Him, and receiving eternal life); that is just one aspect. It's crucial to understand this.
1 Corinthians 1:30 describes Jesus as our Righteousness. Remember that Jesus made us right; He positionally has given us everything that we would need to be in right standing with Him. However, the working of the Spirit is not under the law. In other words, the Holy Spirit is not making us do anything; believers should naturally yield to Him.

We have been saved by grace, and the Holy Spirit was given to help us.

• Since we have received all that we need through grace, in God’s mind, it should be natural for us to receive, yield, and allow Him to work everything out.

• Sadly, people are being restricted in religious organizations.

• I have also observed that many are incredibly resistant to yielding to the Holy Spirit; they do not continue in their freedom to where they want to go out and help others by feeding, teaching, and mentoring them.

• There must be another step that believers take so that we're just not waiting for Jesus to come back, but actively participating in the harvest. The Holy Spirit wants to do that.

Concerning ministry, we should not only be teaching, but also praying for people. If we have extra food, water, or belongings, we should actively help others in our community. We should be building each other up, praying, and encouraging each other. Sometimes, people just need a friend; they need to know they're not alone in a situation. Although teaching and studying the Bible is essential, let’s examine where we might be lacking in transferring all this knowledge into something practical. I don't want anyone sitting around waiting for Jesus to return. We must actively allow the Spirit to work through us, not just in us.

I believe that you will be able to help each other, apply what you have received and that there will be great fruit from it. You'll look back on this lesson and see that God started to move in your life in a greater way.

PRAYER:
Thank You, Father, for my family all over the world. I pray that the power of Your Holy Spirit would come upon everybody and that all the understanding they need would be implemented right now. Let there be a supernatural impartation of wisdom. Thank You, Lord, for making any necessary corrections and for restoring everything that has been stolen. Thank You, Lord, for healing every sickness and disease. In the name of Jesus Christ and by His authority, I drive out all sickness and all disease. I break debt and poverty, in Jesus’s name. I address any evil spirits operating in our family's finances. In Jesus’s name, I rebuke you, satan. I drive you out of their finances now. Lord, I pray for the restoration of relationships. We address any discord, unforgiveness, and disruption in the spirit and break the power of the enemy. We rebuke any harassment taking place through relationships, lineages, and bloodlines. We break the curses and command those evil spirits to go, in Jesus’s name, amen.
